Bachelor in Paradise star Mari Pepin announced her candidacy for Miss World Puerto Rico 2022, aiming to represent her hometown of Luquillo with support from Kenny Braasch. Though placing as a finalist in that competition, she later won Miss Intercontinental Puerto Rico 2022 and finished as the 1st Runner-Up at the international pageant.
