The 40th anniversary of (LTB), celebrated in 2007, marked four decades since the series first debuted in Germany in 1967. Over this period, the series published 369 volumes, totaling tens of thousands of comic pages and enough physical books to create a 70-meter-high tower if stacked. To commemorate the milestone, Egmont Ehapa released several exclusive items and special editions:
A four-volume special edition set that divided the 40-year history into decades: Band 1 (1967–1977): Highlights from the first decade.
Stories from the third decade, including "Der Allmachts-Stein".
The main series published an "extradick" (extra-thick) anniversary issue titled "40 Jahre Lustiges Taschenbuch," featuring 13 stories, including a musical-themed parody of the Beatles ("Die Käfer").
A representative cross-section of the late 70s and 80s.
Each volume featured a representative selection of stories from the respective period and a previously as a highlight.
The final volume covering the modern era up to the anniversary.
