The progress bar didn't move from left to right. Instead, it filled with a deep, pulsing crimson from the center outward. When it finished, a single text file appeared: README_OR_ELSE.txt .

In the reflection of the monitor, he saw the door behind him slowly swing wide.

Suddenly, his speakers emitted a low, rhythmic thumping—the sound of a heartbeat, slow and heavy. He tried to close the file, but his mouse cursor began moving on its own, dragging a series of images out of the RAR archive and onto his desktop. Instead, it filled with a deep, pulsing crimson
At 6:41 PM, the heartbeat in the speakers accelerated. A new folder appeared in the archive titled VOICES . He clicked it, and a wave of audio files flooded his screen. He played the top one. It was his own voice, screaming a name he hadn’t spoken in ten years. The clock hit 6:42 PM.
