Born on April 5, 1909, in Derbent, Zeynalli showed early musical promise. He moved to Baku to pursue formal education, studying at the Baku Music College from 1923 to 1926. Zeynalli's life was tragically cut short when he contracted typhus during a folklore-collecting expedition in Karabakh. He died on October 27, 1932. In 1953, the Baku Music College was renamed in his honor to recognize his indispensable role in shaping the nation's musical identity. He is buried in the in Baku.
