She scanned the "Fashion & Retail" section. Her heart did a little leap. There, nestled between a department store card and a movie theater pass, was the logo.
Lily stood in the middle of the CVS aisle, staring blankly at a wall of plastic. It was 7:30 PM, the night before her best friend’s bachelorette party, and she was currently losing the "Best Maid of Honor" title to her own procrastination.
"Focus, Lily," she whispered, her eyes darting across the gift card rack. She saw cards for Starbucks, Amazon, and even a local steakhouse, but her eyes were hunting for that specific shade of angel-wing pink.
She needed something—fast. Her friend Sarah lived for luxury, specifically the kind that came in pink-striped boxes.
"Score," Lily mouthed. She grabbed a $50 card, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.
She walked out into the cool evening air, no longer the world's most disorganized Maid of Honor, but a woman who knew exactly where to find a pink-striped miracle in a pinch.
Lily grinned, tucking the gift card into her wallet. "Already got one. Just needed the magic ingredient."
"Need a card for that?" the cashier asked, pointing to the greeting card aisle.
