The project started when Damir decided to film his mother making his favorite dish, Gibanica . This evolved into a YouTube channel where Miroslava teaches her son—who she jokingly refers to as a "cooking imbecile"—how to prepare authentic Eastern European meals . Due to overwhelming fan demand, Damir eventually "got off his smartphone" to help her catalogue over 600 family recipes, many of which had been handed down through her family in Yugoslavia.
