One twin, Roy Chauhan (Ranveer Singh), is a circus performer known as "The Electric Man" because he can withstand high-voltage electricity. Due to a psychic link, his twin in Bangalore, Roy Shenoy, feels the electric shocks whenever Roy Chauhan performs.

The story begins in the 1940s when Dr. Roy Jamnadas (Murali Sharma) conducts a "nature vs. nurture" experiment. He separates two sets of identical twins at birth and gives them up for adoption to two different families—one in Ooty and one in Bangalore—naming both pairs "Roy" and "Joy".

The two pairs finally come face-to-face at the circus, where Dr. Jamnadas reveals the truth of their origins. The film concludes with a teaser connecting it to Rohit Shetty's Golmaal franchise, introducing five young orphans named Gopal, Madhav, Lucky, and two Laxmans. 3.
