The story begins when from the Global Space Agency asks Ted (The Man with the Yellow Hat) if George can participate in a critical space mission to retrieve a broken RDS device from a satellite. This device is vital for controlling dams and preventing floods in Africa. After rigorous training, George launches into space but accidentally sends his rocket into free fall, forcing him to eject and crash-land in an African jungle preserve. While a worried Ted searches for him, George befriends local animals and navigates the jungle to help save it from an impending storm and flood.
