(1966) - Daisies

Věra Chytilová's 1966 masterpiece ( Sedmikrásky ) is a landmark of the Czechoslovak New Wave . A radical work of feminist and avant-garde cinema, it follows two young women, both named Marie, who decide that since the world has "gone bad," they will go bad too. This leads to an anarchic, non-linear series of pranks, gluttonous feasts, and acts of social defiance against patriarchal and authoritarian norms. Key Artistic & Political Features
