After a childhood near-death experience that claimed her mother’s life, (Riele Downs) gains the ability to see and communicate with ghosts, whom she calls "deados". Isolated and cynical, she spends her time helping spirits with "unfinished business". Her world is upended when her former friend and school "Queen Bee," Capri (Auli’i Cravalho), dies in a freak hair-straightening accident.
