The story takes place in 1877 and follows the character of Dr. John Lee (Christoph Waltz), a dentist and occasional bank robber. He meets up with Doc Holliday (Warren Beatty), an old friend and fellow gunslinger. The two plan to rob a bank in the town of Redemption, but their plan goes awry.
