Through a coordinated effort—including a combination attack from Takuya (Vritramon) and Zoe (Shutumon)—the children manage to defeat him. Koji slide evolves into Lobomon and scans Petaldramon’s Beast Spirit of Wood, reverting him back to his Human Spirit form, Arbormon.

The Digidestined continue their journey toward the aboard a Trailmon named Franken. Franken abruptly stops at the Dark Gate , refusing to enter the dangerous Continent of Darkness .
