Lightning realized that while he was trying to be the fastest car on his own, his friends were the ones who kept him moving.
"Too busy, fellas! Check back after the race!" Lightning zoomed off.
During a final practice run, Lightning took a turn too sharp and blew a tire. He skidded off the dirt track and got stuck deep in a patch of cactus. He tried to rev his engine, but he only sank deeper.
Without being asked, Luigi and Guido arrived with a fresh tire and a jack.
