He zoomed in on the tuxedo. Pinned to the lapel was a boutonniere made of black roses—and a small, handwritten note that was just barely legible in the pixels.

Finally, he opened the image. It was a photo of a ballroom, opulent and draped in white silk. It was beautiful, except for one detail: the room was entirely empty, save for a single tuxedo hanging from a hook in the center of the dance floor.

The folder didn't contain photos of tiered cakes or dancing cousins. Instead, there were three items: a single high-resolution image, an audio file, and a text document. 11:38 PM
