In the first episode of Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin), Kim Shin is betrayed and transformed into an immortal, 900-year-old being tasked with guiding humans while burdened by an invisible sword. He intervenes in fate to save a dying woman, resulting in the birth of Ji Eun-tak, who grows up as the "Goblin's bride" capable of releasing him from his curse. The episode features Eun-tak inadvertently summoning the Goblin on her birthday, leading to a new, unexpected living situation with him and a Grim Reaper.
