Milan Kundera (1929–2023) was a Czech-born French novelist who became one of the most influential literary voices of the 20th century. His work is celebrated for its unique blend of , political critique, and explorations of the human condition. Often categorized under existentialism, his writing frequently examines themes like memory, identity, and the tension between "lightness" (freedom or lack of meaning) and "weight" (responsibility and suffering).
