UzSU History

In December 2023, Jasurbek Jabborov, Dono Abdurahmanova, Sabina Olimova, and Asha Bukharbaeva ā€“ a group of four students from Uzbekistan studying in the UK came together with a shared purpose: to create a unified platform that would serve as a home for Uzbek students far from their homeland.Ā 

They recognized the challenges of navigating academic life in a foreign country while staying connected to their cultural roots. Driven to foster a sense of belonging, they decided to establish Uzbekistanā€™s Studentsā€™ Union (UzSU).

The idea was born out of conversations about the need for a supportive community ā€“ one that could not only celebrate Uzbek culture but also empower students to succeed. The founders were motivated by creating a space where students could exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and form meaningful connections.

They envisioned UzSU as a bridge between Uzbekistanā€™s students and their prosperous future.
