: Monk discovers that Duncan actually suffered from severe food allergies. He deduces that the killer induced an anaphylactic reaction in Duncan using peanut oil, causing him to collapse just as the stabbing scene began. The killer then swapped the prop knife for a real one to finish him off and frame Gail.
