The story follows (Dhanush), a mute aspiring actor from a small village with immense talent but no voice. With the help of an assistant director, Akshara (Akshara Haasan), he finds Amitabh Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan), a failed actor with a powerful baritone voice who lives in a graveyard. Using a specialized voice-transfer technology, Amitabh's voice is dubbed over Daanish's performances, creating a superstar persona named "Shamitabh". However, the duo's success is eventually threatened by a massive clash of egos between "the face" and "the voice".
