Batiatus coordinates an ambush with his friend Solonius, tricking Tullius and Vettius into a back-alley trap. While Vettius is spared to help cover up Tullius's disappearance, Tullius is brutally beaten, forced to swallow his own father’s ashes, and eventually buried alive within the foundations of the new arena.
The episode ends with a flash-forward to the "Kill Them All" finale of Blood and Sand , showing Batiatus and Lucretia lying in their own blood as the voice of Spartacus declares that their deaths are only the beginning.
Crixus proves his worth by helping clear the arena but is ultimately knocked out of the ring by Gannicus, who does so to save Crixus from a killing blow.
