The film Finch (2021) is a post-apocalyptic survival drama directed by Miguel Sapochnik and starring Tom Hanks as Finch Weinberg, an aging robotics engineer and one of the few survivors of a cataclysmic solar event that destroyed Earth's ozone layer. Living in an underground laboratory in St. Louis with his dog Goodyear and a small robot named Dewey, Finch is terminally ill with radiation poisoning. To ensure Goodyear’s survival after his death, Finch builds a highly advanced humanoid robot named Jeff and embarks on a cross-country road trip to San Francisco.
