Elias watched, mesmerized, as the camera panned to a man standing over a wooden chest. The man looked up, staring directly into the lens. He wasn't an actor. He was Elias’s father, a treasure hunter who had vanished twelve years ago, presumed lost at sea.
He took a breath, his finger hovering over the key. The world was about to go off the map.
"I knew you'd be the one to find the seed, Eli," his father’s voice crackled through the surround sound speakers, sounding as if he were standing right behind him. "They think this is a movie. They think the story ends when the credits roll. But the map isn't on paper anymore. It’s in the code."
