The story centers on Moshe Yehuda, a Hasidic Rabbi in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, who is also an amateur Hora dancer. When his school faces bankruptcy, he teams up with a professional dance instructor, Viviana, to win a high-stakes competition. The central conflict arises from Moshe's religious principles, which prohibit him from touching any woman other than his wife. To solve this "physical contact" dilemma, Moshe seeks guidance from a diverse council of religious leaders—including a Catholic priest, a Muslim imam, and a Sikh holy man—to find a way to dance "without sacrificing his sacred beliefs".
