The story begins in the studio of the comic's creator, (Henryk Jerzy Chmielewski). Frustrated with his drawings, the artist knocks over a bottle of ink . The spilled ink transforms into a live chimpanzee who begins to wreck the studio. To control the chaos, Papcio Chmiel calls upon two scouts, Romek and A'Tomek , who give the monkey the name Tytus and begin the long process of "humanizing" him .
