YACReader (Yet Another Comic Reader) is a comprehensive, open-source digital comic management and reading ecosystem designed for both desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile (iOS, Android) platforms, catering to enthusiasts with massive collections. The project has evolved since 2009 into a robust pair of applications: for organizing and streaming, and YACReader for reading. Core Ecosystem Components

The app is regularly updated to support new iOS features, such as Widgets and Dark Mode.

A desktop application used to create, organize, and manage large digital comic libraries. It supports searching, metadata editing (tags), and, crucially, acts as a server to stream comics to mobile devices. It handles massive libraries, allowing users to keep their comics organized in folders and subfolders.

The reader component itself. It is known for its customizability, featuring varied fit modes, continuous scroll, manga mode (right-to-left), and automatic margins trimming. It includes a specialized guided reading mode (panel-by-panel).

A recent addition (as of Dec 2025) allows users to apply filters to improve old comic scans, with settings synchronized across devices via the library.

The mobile apps are designed to work seamlessly with YACReaderLibrary, allowing users to browse and read remotely, saving device space. Key Features and Evolution

Users can stream comics directly from their computer to their mobile device, or import them via USB, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Box.

It offers deep customization, including the ability to create nested reading lists. Common User Experience & Feedback YACReader - Comic Reader - App Store
