Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg) is grieving and erratic, convinced his son's death was a targeted gang hit. His family begins their own investigation, including planning a DNA test on an inhaler found at the scene (which actually belongs to Adam).

Charlie enlists Rudy, a corrupt officer, who then contacts "Little Mo" of the Desire crew.

Little Mo tasks a young teenager, Kofi Jones, with stealing the car and disposing of it.

They visit the grave of Michael’s late wife, Robin, on the anniversary of her death. Michael even manipulates a beggar at the gate to ensure their visit is noted.

Michael, once a paragon of justice, now finds himself on the opposite side of the bench. He watches in his own courtroom as Kofi Jones—the son of a woman Michael had recently helped in a different case—pleads guilty to a crime he didn't commit to protect his family from gang threats.
