Marina Lopez <2024>

Marina López is a Mexico City-born, Pittsburgh-based composer, educator, and emerging writer recognized for blending musical genres and creating immersive artistic experiences. Her work often explores the intersection of psychological, ethnomusicological, and physical roots of her Mexican heritage.

Her music has been performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, Transient Canvas, Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic, and Boston’s White Snake Projects. Her opera, Not Our First American , premiered at the Pittsburgh Opera in 2019. marina lopez
